History of Anticonsumerism

I don't know if there are any cool documentaries about consumerism and the resistance against it. The Wikipedia page is pretty short for movie titles. If I had the technology and time, I think it'd be really cool to make a documentary or a time lapse that showed consumerism in a negative light. Maybe using CGI, follow a single city street through the Industrial Revolution until today, or interview the working class about their relationship to buying stuff.

The anticonsumerist movement seems to be more subtle and ideological, rather than rallies taking to the streets, so it may be more difficult for me to chronicle the history of the movement. The more effective activist tactics seems to be boycotts and performances
