There was recently an interview done by AIM Youth Mental Health of someone who has been hands-on in terms of trying to help youths struggling with mental health. There are advocates who end up going into a field that focusses on the topic that they're trying to support and that's exactly what Dr. Rinad Beidas did. She was initially wanted to develop mental health treatments for youths, but instead opted for trying to better implement treatments that are not used as much as they could be. These are treatments that could be more available and accessible to those in need.

Often there are children who do not receive the treatments that can actually help them but have still been admitted into clinics/facilities that have tried other means to help with their mental health struggles. There is also not enough funding to help those who are working to better their mental health. There's also the need for people to understand and attend to the needs of youths. Mental health needs to be taken more seriously in order for things to get better and this is something that Dr. Beidas seems to be striving for. The community needs more people who are willing to look further into how to better help children. Thinking scientifically and systematically and looking into creating a plan to actually help children admitted into clinics as opposed to giving them medication and sending them off is important in bettering their well-being.
