So! My movement is a bit weird when it comes to this assignment... Specifically! My movement is about supporting and promoting women trying to and/or entering the gaming industry, whether that they be seeking careers in game-making or esports. Thus! The content surrounding this movement is mostly posts about conventions, talks, meet-ups, jobs, etc. Since they're not necessarily doing some or all of this stuff all-year-around, their posts are also infrequent, which is why I have a lot of sites.
My resources:
Women in Games in a non-profit activist group that embodies the movement, believing in more women/diversity getting into making games and competing in esports. Their Twitter seems to post about their events (awards, conventions, booths at their conventions, etc.) and shoutout people, such as other women and companies, who are helping progress the movement forward. There is also an international version of this group, and I have their Twitter linked.
"The*gameHERs is a women-led community dedicated to amplifying and centering the voices of women gamers and femme identifying gamers across the spectra of gender identity and expression... Our mission is to advance the role, voice, image, and power of all the*gameHERs in the game industry" (https://thegamehers.com/). Their Twitter retweets their partners (which offer helpful resources), offers an award competition/show (and promotes the competitors), retweets what certain prominent women are doing (in terms of their work), etc.
"Girls Make Games is a series of summer camps, workshops and game jams designed to inspire the next generation of designers, creators, and engineers" (https://www.girlsmakegames.com/). Their Twitter promotes their workshops, games the students make, and relevant panels and indie stuff.
Putting The G Into Gaming, or G into Gaming, claims to be a campaign that is trying to "address and improve gender imbalance across the UK Games industry" (https://twitter.com/G_into_Gaming). I say "claim" because their main website has nothing going. But their Twitter posts updates on women in the gaming industry's careers and promotes conventions, festivals, booths, conferences, job postings, etc.
Started by a woman named Lauren, she created the "She Play Games" podcast to "celebrate the women who Lauren had met in the video games industry and shine a light on their inspirational stories... [hoping] to make the video games industry a better and more inclusive place and to raise awareness about the different paths women can take to get into their dream job" (https://www.sheplaysgames.co/). So I could check out the podcast or the Twitter to see what a new episode is about (and other tangential info related to the podcast).
Code Coven claims to be the "first games industry-focused classroom and accelerator," with a focus on promoting diversity (https://codecoven.co/). Thus, their Twitter promotes their classes, games of their students, and retweet studio spotlights.
LASTLY! Fem Devs Meetup is an organization about networking and brining together "women, marginalized groups, and allies [in Germany]... to share ideas, knowledge, and passion for games" (https://femdevsmeetup.com/). Their Twitter posts registrations, promotions, and recaps of their meetups and events (either held or promoted by them).
